The Sorrell Trope Project

Tell your story

Sorrell Trope has had a large impact on the family law community in Los Angeles County.  A group of us have taken on a project to collect stories about his life and his practice.  The goal is to capture these stories while they can sill be found, have a writer compile them and interview Sorrell for a publication that would be available to our family law community.  For years those of us who have approached Sorrell about writing an autobiography of some sort about his experience in his career have been rebuffed by him with comments like,  "Too much trouble", "I don't have time for that" and "Who would read it?"  Now that the California State Bar has recognized him with a Lifetime Achievement Award, it is time to begin.

Many of us have heard great stories about Sorrell over the years - stories that take place in the courtoom, in the conference room, in the office and on the ski slopes.  If you have a "Sorrell story" we would like to hear it.  Please take a moment to reflect, type something out and submit it to the project.  You can do this by clicking on the  "Tell us your story" tab on this website.  If you have a picture of Sorrell to share, please attach it.  If you have any problems submitting them through the website, please send them by email to TheSorrellTropeProject@gmail.com.

We look forward to hearing from you.
